Modelling ecosystems with deep reinforcement learning
I will present the ecosystem simulator Ecotwin (www.ecotwin.se), which uses 3D models of the terrain and individual animal models that are controlled by deep neural networks trained with reinforcement learning. I will show how this simulator can be used for studying local biodiversity effects of land use change, exploitation of natural resources, pollution, invasive species, and climate change.
Claes Strannegård is an associate professor at the department of Applied IT at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
